The digital lighthouse in manufacturing

As the only production plant in Sweden, the Sandvik Coromant production unit in Gimo was recognized by the World Economic Forum as a digital lighthouse in manufacturing.

The main reason why Gimo was selected was the digital thread which runs through the whole production process, something that has significantly raised productivity. Watch this film and find out how it works!

About 1,400 people work at Sandvik Coromant in Gimo. The business is divided into two facilities, one for the inserts and one for the holders in which the inserts are located. Both of these are the world's largest production facilities in their respective areas.

In the film, Simon Smedberg, Production Engineering Manager, talks about how they work with industrial digitization, a work that has resulted in the award from the World Economic Forum.
